GAN once again leaves Milan with a warm feeling of accomplishment. Its space at Salone del Mobile 2018 has attracted a great influx of professionals and design lovers, evidence of the interest its new collections have aroused. In addition to seeing and trying the collections in person, visitors also had the chance to meet their designers, the popular designer duo Neri&Hu, as well as GAN’s long-time collaborator Patricia Urquiola.
On Wednesday, Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu, from the Shanghai and London-based studio, welcomed everyone who came to learn first-hand about their Lan collection, made up of carpets, seating modules and dividers. The concept of LAN stems from the oriental tradition of using indigo tones in the home, and from the inspiration of movable screens, however it breaks the traditional concept of “sofa” to propose an elegant set of modular pieces.
Patricia Urquiola visited us on Thursday to present the expansion of her outdoor collection Garden Layers. The collection has not ceased to receive praise since it was presented during the 2017 edition of Salone del Mobile, and this year it grows even bigger with the addition of two new pieces, an Indian bed and a side table. Urquiola also presented, at Cassina’s showroom on Via Durini, the new line of hand-knotted carpets created for GAN: MIRAGE.
Together with Mapi Millet, director of GAN, the designers made the energy vibrate with freshness at the stand, which was transmitted to all those who came to say hello, congratulate and discover the latest about the brand. Both LAN and MIRAGE, as well as the extension of Garden Layers are the result of years of work in search of products that are unique and contemporary, with a from a strong artisan element to them.
Thanks for the warm welcome and … until the next edition!
