Contemporary interior and exterior craftsmanship crafted in India with natural and recycled fibers: we presented five new collections of rugs and spaces at the stand designed by Søren Rose for Gandia Blasco Group.
In a space conceived by Søren Rose to convey the essential values of contemporary craftsmanship and respect for outdoor environments, we presented our new collections for indoor and outdoor use. Five new lines of rugs and spaces materialize through artisanal techniques and alongside great designers, with which we have once again bet on exploring the possibilities of natural fibers and recycled materials such as rPET.
We want to express our gratitude to all those who joined us during Milan Design Week to learn about the inspiration and development process of our latest collections. We hope you could feel firsthand the passion we share along with the entire team and designers who are part of the GAN family.
Once again, we discover new proposals based on the value of handmade techniques and collaboration with designers and creatives driven by the desire to revitalize craftsmanship, such as Helena Rohner, Daria Zinovatnaya, José A. Gandía-Blasco Canales, Mayice, and Alejandra Gandía-Blasco.
LINES by Mayice, sensory experience and modular zigzag geometry
The rugs of Mayice‘s LINES series pay homage to wool, emphasizing touch and natural authenticity. Handmade in India, they are characterized by long strands of undyed wool. Their long-pile surfaces, with intentional changes of direction and made on a manual loom by experts in the field, offer a unique tactile experience, while their zigzag modular geometry is designed to create versatile configurations. A nod to the random use of sheepskins in the past.
NOMAD by Alejandra Gandía-Blasco, outdoor craftsmanship with 100% recycled fibers for a nomadic life
100% recycled craftsmanship, NOMAD is the essence of GAN Spaces taken to its minimal expression, as with its rugs, poufs, and cushions, multiple relaxed and informal scenarios can be created, as well as structuring environments. Its creator has delved into a design that provides the most agile deployment possible, seeking a double nomadism, both from one place to another and within the same space. Its drawing patterns are based on native Indian designs, used during GAN‘s research to test how recycled PET fibers behave on a loom. Those samples are now the fabrics of NOMAD.
LOKO by Daria Zinovatnaya, bold chromatic collages that evoke emotions
Daria Zinovatnaya‘s LOKO rugs combine textures, geometries, and vibrant colors in visually striking compositions. As experimental chromatic collages, the two models of the series are handcrafted in compositions that celebrate form and color in their purest state. Available in natural undyed wool or in vibrant handwoven designs, they invite artistic expression in interior design.
LA GERIA-LANZAROTE by José A. Gandía-Blasco Canales, the aerial view of a unique volcanic landscape
The LA GERIA-LANZAROTE rug captures the essence of the unique landscape of La Geria, blending the contrast between the green of the vines and the black of volcanic rock fragments. Handmade with virgin wool in India, it pays homage to tradition and craftsmanship: both in the viticulture of La Geria and in the manual production of GAN rugs, time dissolves in the process. Its irregular pattern mimics volcanic soil, evoking a harmonious connection with nature.
WEAVE by Helena Rohner, texture blends, geometric patterns, vibrant and dusty colors
With WEAVE, its designer materializes an open and risky creative concept with wool and color as protagonists. The result is an object of contemporary design and craftsmanship where pure mathematics and the magic of light play are welcome, connecting Helena Rohner‘s vision and heart with the gaze and hands of the artisans who create it. The main inspiration in WEAVE is to value the different types of mathematical sequences that can be carried out on a manual loom through a suggestive collage of textures and geometric patterns of colors found.
