Almost a year and a half has passed since the first preview of ROOTS during the Madrid Design Festival 2020. Inma Bermúdez‘s prototypes and tests for her first collection for GAN starred in what was our last face-to-face event before the pandemic.
Times change, but the essence and roots remain. New showroom, new ideas, new challenges, but the same connection with the Mediterranean origins and the same love for the work of artisans: the first pieces of the ROOTS collection landed yesterday in the new Gandia Blasco Group space in Madrid. Professionals from the sector, the media and friends were able to get to know the designs and all the details up close and personal with Inma Bermúdez and Mapi Millet, creative director of GAN.
The ROOTS jute and cotton kilims, hand-woven in India, displayed their simplicity and naturality by playing with essential geometric figures in a checkerboard pattern, creating a serene and warm space. Meanwhile, the stools – a contemporary and resistant reinterpretation of traditional country seating – were a real eye-catcher thanks to the beauty of the babul tree wood and its charming personality.
Thank you all for joining us for this long-awaited reunion!
