PLY, the hypnotic collection by MUT Design for GAN, continues to receive accolades. On this occasion, it has been recognized with an award granted by the prestigious Fuera de Serie magazine, within the Home / Textile category.
Last December 16, Fuera de Serie hosted the third edition of its Design and Innovation Awards, dedicated to honoring Spanish companies that promote excellence in the world of design through innovative initiatives. The awards ceremony took place at the old Damm brewery in Barcelona, where a PLY Blue rug was exhibited alongside a selection of other award-winning products.
Handcrafted with virgin wool using a hand-tufting technique, the PLY collection is an ode to geometry signed by Alberto Sánchez and Eduardo Villalón from MUT Design. It consists of three designs that come in different formats and shades: Pink, Yellow and Blue. Like plywood, PLY lines fold over themselves in closely intertwined loops, generating different optical effects and a sensation of movement.
The Fuera de Serie 2019 awards have recognized brands and products in a total of 20 categories. The jury in charge of the selection was formed by personalities from the world of design, business, journalism and interior design, with members such as designer Mario Ruiz, National Design Award 2016; Txema Ibarra, design editor in Fuera de Serie; or Luís Sans, owner of the Santa Eulalia store in Barcelona.
