The PLY collection never ceases to amaze: after its introduction only a few months ago, its hypnotic geometry has already seduced professionals from all over the world with its peculiar design and originality. Now, the proposal created by Alberto Sánchez and Eduardo Villalón of MUT Design has risen as a winner in the fourteenth edition of the Best of Year (BoY) awards, organized by the prestigious Interior Design magazine, one of the most important industry publications in America. PLY has been selected as the best product of the year in the Residential Rugs/Carpets category.
PLY is a collection of artisan spirit based on the repetition of organic shapes and enveloping textures that have no beginning or end. Like plywood, PLY lines fold over themselves in tightly intertwined loops. This enigmatic rug series is as simple to the naked eye as it is luxurious in detail. Its colors are sober but contemporary, easy to combine in any room.
The Best of Year (BoY) awards were presented on December 6 at a ceremony organized by Interior Design in New York, with over a thousand guests. Each year, the BoY awards select the best creations from the design world and pay tribute to the work of architects, manufacturers and designers from around the globe. These awards, with worldwide coverage, are a distinction that recognizes excellence in design and creativity at the service of functionality, raising the bar more and more for future participants.

It is not the first time that our collections stand out for their exceptional design. GAN had already been recognized in previous editions with a BoY award: in 2016 for its MIX&MATCH collection, designed by Flavia del Pra; in 2017 with the GARDEN LAYERS outdoor collection, designed by Patricia Urquiola; and in 2018 with Neri&Hu’s LAN.
Thanks to Interior Design and congratulations to the rest of the winners!
