We are celebrating! The GANGES rug, the first piece of the PLASTIC RIVERS collection designed by Álvaro Catalán de Ocón for GAN, has been awarded the Ro PLASTIC PRIZE 2021 in the Urban Public Furniture Design category in Milan. These awards are organised by Rossana Orlandi and her daughter Nicoletta Orlandi Brugnoni, to support and encourage the design community to reuse and recycle plastic waste as part of the RoGUILTLESSPLASTIC project.
The winners of the three categories, chosen from over six hundred submitted projects, were announced during the award ceremony held on the 9th of September at the Leonardo da Vinci National Science and Technology Museum in Milan, where the finalists will remain on display as part of the Hall of Waste exhibition.
The complete collection, PLASTIC RIVERS, handcrafted from 100% recycled PET yarns, will officially be launched in 2022 and will also include the YANGTZE, INDUS and NIGER rivers.
