This New York Design Week, GAN celebrates another win! The NYCxDesign awards, organized by Interior Design Magazine, declared LAN designed by Neri&Hu and MIRAGE designed by Patricia Urquiola the winners of the Seating: Contract and Flooring: Residential categories.
Announced at a gorgeous awards ceremony at Pier 17 in New York City on Monday night last, the recognition for LAN and MIRAGE is an incredible accomplishment, given the thousands of design submissions made every year from around the world.
MIRAGE is a vibrant collection of rugs that capture color in movement, signed by Patricia Urquiola, a ground-breaking designer and well-established collaborator with GAN. Made from pure New Zealand wool, the MIRAGE collection tricks the eye with its color gradation organized in superimposed bands that break out of the typical rectangular format. MIRAGE is available in three color options: blue, orange and nude.
LAN is an innovative collection designed by Neri&Hu, the multidisciplinary design studio led by Chinese architects Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu. LAN consists of multiple elements: rugs, modular seating, dividing screens and cushions; all of which can be combined in a myriad of ways to create a unique and custom “space”. All the elements of the collection are expressed in indigo blue, combining different fabrics, textures and techniques that pay homage to the Eastern tradition of using this colour in the home.

LAN and MIRAGE were launched only a month ago, during Milan Design Week. LAN is now available for everyone to see at GAN‘s newly renovated showroom on Greene St. in SoHo. The exhibition is part of the brand’s showcase for its recent products and iconic collections. MIRAGE was recently on display at Cassina’s showroom in SoHo for a special design panel featuring Patricia Urquiola as the guest of honor. The event coincided with the International Furniture Fair (ICFF). ICFF takes place on May 20-23, and it is North America’s most important date for design professionals and retailers
Congratulations to GAN, Patricia Urquiola and Neri&Hu on collections that will definitely become icons of design in the years ahead!
