For the third year in a row, a Patricia Urquiola design for GAN wins a NYCxDESIGN Award, given by the prestigious Interior Design Magazine in partnership with ICFF in New York, with the purpose of recognizing the most exceptional designs in the industry. In the last two editions, the jury awarded the GARDEN LAYERS (2017) and MIRAGE (2018) collections, by Patricia Urquiola, as well as LAN, by Neri&Hu. Congratulations to Patricia Urquiola and the GAN team for this well-deserved recognition to years of work and development!
NUANCES, awarded in the Residential Flooring category, is the latest creation by Patricia Urquiola for GAN and consists of three rugs and a pouf made of wool felt. The collection echoes the brand’s commitment to researching materials and processes to obtain new textures and develop techniques that make craftsmanship evolve. Patricia Urquiola reinvents this natural material, warm and malleable, modifying the traditional manufacturing parameters. After playing with different colors and densities of wool, the result is a stone-like agglomerate that combines vertical lines and undulations, with exposed seams that accentuate the artisan character of each piece.
NUANCES consists of three rugs that follow different patterns (Curve, Line and Round) and a pouf, which can be combined to obtain different compositions. NUANCES is declined in three color options that, always starting from stone gray, take us towards three natural color palettes: rose and burgundy (Burgundy), green and blue (Naiad) and earth and lava (Volcano).
