Lan triumphs at Interior Design Magazine’s Best of Year Awards Ceremony

LAN, the modular collection designed by Neri&Hu for GAN, keeps on giving. After being awarded at the NYCxDesign Awards and the Archiproducts Design Awards, the collection has now been recognized again with a prestigious Best of Year (BoY) Award in the “Residential Seating: Sofa” category.

LAN is a collection of rugs, seating modules and dividers that reinvent and question the sofa’s typology, dividing it into different elements that can be assembled in many ways and arranged on top of the matching pure wool rug. Its name refers to the indigo color that characterizes the collection (‘lan’ means ‘blue’ in Mandarin), which pays tribute to the oriental tradition of using indigo to dye the fabrics used to decorate a home.

Neri&Hu, the multidisciplinary studio founded by Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu, has created a collection that bears their personal stamp, combining Eastern and Western aesthetics, and very much in line with GAN’s philosophy and its commitment to combine contemporary design with the most traditional crafts.

Interior Design Magazine’s Best of Year (BoY) Awards -one of the most important industry publications in North America- highlight the best creations of the design industry, recognizing the work of architects, manufacturers and designers worldwide. After thirteen years, the BoY Awards have become the definitive measure of excellence, highlighting the best creations in every category of design and, at the same time, establishing the future names that will lead the industry.

GAN had already been recognized on two other occasions with a BoY award: in 2016 for its Mix&Match collection, designed by Flavia del Pra, and in 2017 for its Garden Layers outdoor collection, also by Patricia Urquiola.

The ceremony was held on Friday, November 30 in New York, and the winners were announced live by Cindy Allen (editor-in-chief of Interior Design) and Carol Cisco (editor).

Thank you Interior Design and congratulations to all of the winners!
