BACKSTITCH won’t stop accumulating awards for its creativity and design! A few weeks ago we announced that the collection had won a Dezeen Award in the Homeware Design category. Now, the new rug line, created by the London-based studio Raw-Edges, has won the highest prize at the international Archiproducts Design Awards within the Decor category.
This distinction represents a new recognition of the work of designers Yael Mer and Shay Alkahay, who have developed for GAN a collection of three rugs -available in two colors- that explore the beauty of the hidden, giving prominence to the reverse of traditional embroidery.
In just four editions, the Archiproducts Design Awards have achieved great international prestige among industry professionals. The renowned architecture and design platform thus identifies and celebrates the excellence of design in multiple fields and disciplines, from structures to furniture and decorative objects.
Undoubtedly, the BACKSTITCH collection is breaking molds. The proposal combines the unlimited creativity and transformative capacity of Raw-Edges with GAN’s handmade philosophy. The result is obvious: attractive and unique rugs with a contemporary design that respect the tradition of handmade products.
Thanks to Archiproducts for this new distinction and congratulations to all the winners!
