GAN went to Cologne earlier January to take part in the first international furniture fair of the year, the IMM Cologne. The brand new additions to the 2017 catalogue were presented there: the RAW, WAAN, RODAS and ÍNDIGO rugs, as well as two of the MIX&MATCH serving platters that have just received the Best of Year (BoY) accessories award in New York.
Between January 16th and 22nd the German city was jam-packed with the latest trends that will be influencing the world of interiors over the coming months. GAN took part of this exciting shop window with a sober and refined stand defined by petrol blue walls where the warmth of rugs like WAAN, by the young Dutch designer Dienke Dekker, was beautifully framed. GAN collaborated with the German designer furniture distribution companies JANUA and FREIFRAU during this year’s event.
Innovation based on a respect for tradition is one of the leading principles behind GAN, the indoors brand of GANDIABLASCO. Its RAW collection designed by Borja García is a declaration of love for natural materials, in their raw state as well as the Mediterranean architecture of elemental solutions. WAAN evokes a hypnotic graphic with its combination of yarns. The unusual RODAS is a hybrid rug come tapestry while ÍNDIGO hand knotted in an age-old craft technique resulting in a highly contemporary visual effect.
Among the other new releases by GAN is the award winning MIX&MATCH collection designed by ceramicist Flavia del Pra, that reinvents the classic serving trays with a whimsical flourish.
